Fun at the Buckerts

Well little Bryson just can't seem to get enough of what we're doing! His latest obsession... the mail! He has to hold it and taste it and rip it and will let you know how upset he is if you take it away. After a long hard afternoon of checking out the mail, Bryson relaxed so much he fell sound asleep in the tub!! We just couldn't resist capturing this memory!!

Our Goddaughter

Today we were blessed enough to participate in the baptism of Maya Judy! Nathan and I served as Maya's Christian sponsers. Nate and I were honored that Marlene and Tony choose us and cannot be more happy to be able to play this role in Maya's life! She was an absolute angel during the ceremony and looked like one too! We weren't able to bring our hooligan to the ceremony and luncheon but he was happy for Maya none the less!

They're Here!!

Bryson now has two new friends!!! The boys have arrived and here they are... Zachery and Derek were born on January 4, 2008. They were 4 lbs. 11 oz. and 4 lb. 15 oz. respectively. They had to stay a few extra days in the hospital but both are strong, healthy and already tiring Sara and Mike out!! Can't wait to go see them in March!!

Baby Maya

Baby Maya came over for dinner last night and Bryson is finally more aware of surroundings, at least enough to be very interested in this pretty little screamer that came by to play. We were nervous to let him get too close, for fear that he may be a little too rough, but they seemed to enjoy checking each other out never the less!

Hip-Hip-Hooray

BIG NEWS in the Buckert household!! Bryson has finally decided to roll over!! And of course, never one to do things the conventional way, he's decided that back to front was more his style that the typical front to back roll-over! He was so proud of his accomplishment and was even willing to do it a few more times since I missed the first one! Here are a few amusing pictures of his efforts!
Notice the Razer cell phone Bryce is holding? Nate got a new phone and Bryson's incentive to roll over was daddy's old phone.... he's already addicted to cellphones! Oh boy!

Welcoming the New Year!

As 2007 came and went, Nathan and I reflected on what a year it was. The birth of our son has truely changed our lives forever and even on a bad day, we wouldn't have it any other way. We are so very thankful for the blessing that we received in Bryson's arrival and are reminded each day how amazing it is to be parents.

We welcomed in the new year at my families cottage in Michigan with my oldest brother, his fiance and my parents. Bryson didn't quite make it to midnight, though he tried hard! He spent his time in Michigan "playing" video games and watching Grammie and Poppie's puppies run around the kitchen.

Bryson also got to see his Grandma and Grandpa Buckert over our New Year trip to Michigan. He enjoyed showing them his skills in unwrapping presents! It was great to see family and very nice of Uncle Tom, Aunt Barb and Jamie to not mind sharing their home with us!!

Lastly we're proud to report that Cousin Owen has come home from the hospital and is keeping Uncle Matthew and Aunt Susan very busy these days! He's six pounds, seven ounces and a healthy little guy! We look forward to officially meeting him when we can!!

Christmas Day

On Christmas morning Bryson found that Santa had indeed come and brought him a shiny red wagon. There was also a green frog, affectionately known as Froggy, to accompany him on his journey's.

After opening gifts from Nate and I, Bryson was exhausted and needed a nap! So did we! Then we packed up the car and headed over to Grammie and Poppies. Thankfully Uncle Jordan and Uncle Joshua were still sleeping so they didn't start without us! Grammie helped Bryson open his gifts... he really liked tearing the paper and pulling out tissue paper! Everything had to go in his mouth of course.

5 Months Already!

My how the time has flown! On Christmas Eve Bryson turned 5 months old. It's hard to believe that we've had this little blessing for almost half a year already!! He's learned a few new tricks that he thankfully saved to show us while we've been home from work. He's sitting on his own, blowing rasberries and delighting us all with he squeals of excitement. We're still working on rolling over but know that it will come with time.

Christmas Eve also brought Bryson's first
present experiences. We quickly discovered he liked the paper more than the gifts inside but we were sure appreciative! He's an expert unwrapper and even tried to help me wrap his uncles gifts later that night! Bryson slept all the way through the night on Christmas Eve... he must have know Santa was coming!!

It's a cousin!

Bryson has his first cousin... Owen, born on December 17th, 6 weeks early!! He's quite the little man and his mommy and daddy are anxious to bring his home! Bryce saw pitures of his cousin and cooed and sqealed with delight... we know they're going to be good buddies!

Bryson's Christianing

Today Bryson was christianed at Christ Lutheran Church in Orland Park. Bryson's sponsors were his Uncle Jordan, Uncle Matthew and Aunt Susan. Grandpa Buckert performed the ceremony which involved all of the family. Afterwards we enjoyed dinner at 94 West, well, everyone enjoyed dinner while Bryson slept soundly in his stroller.
