Christmas Day

On Christmas morning Bryson found that Santa had indeed come and brought him a shiny red wagon. There was also a green frog, affectionately known as Froggy, to accompany him on his journey's.

After opening gifts from Nate and I, Bryson was exhausted and needed a nap! So did we! Then we packed up the car and headed over to Grammie and Poppies. Thankfully Uncle Jordan and Uncle Joshua were still sleeping so they didn't start without us! Grammie helped Bryson open his gifts... he really liked tearing the paper and pulling out tissue paper! Everything had to go in his mouth of course.

5 Months Already!

My how the time has flown! On Christmas Eve Bryson turned 5 months old. It's hard to believe that we've had this little blessing for almost half a year already!! He's learned a few new tricks that he thankfully saved to show us while we've been home from work. He's sitting on his own, blowing rasberries and delighting us all with he squeals of excitement. We're still working on rolling over but know that it will come with time.

Christmas Eve also brought Bryson's first
present experiences. We quickly discovered he liked the paper more than the gifts inside but we were sure appreciative! He's an expert unwrapper and even tried to help me wrap his uncles gifts later that night! Bryson slept all the way through the night on Christmas Eve... he must have know Santa was coming!!

It's a cousin!

Bryson has his first cousin... Owen, born on December 17th, 6 weeks early!! He's quite the little man and his mommy and daddy are anxious to bring his home! Bryce saw pitures of his cousin and cooed and sqealed with delight... we know they're going to be good buddies!

Bryson's Christianing

Today Bryson was christianed at Christ Lutheran Church in Orland Park. Bryson's sponsors were his Uncle Jordan, Uncle Matthew and Aunt Susan. Grandpa Buckert performed the ceremony which involved all of the family. Afterwards we enjoyed dinner at 94 West, well, everyone enjoyed dinner while Bryson slept soundly in his stroller.

Day-Glow Baby

The doctor's concerns about Bryson's billy reuben results led us to a doctor's visit the day after we came home from the hospital. It was quite a traumatic experience as they had to draw a rather large sample of blood from Bryson's very tiny foot. It was determined that his levels were increasing and he would need to do light therapy, thankfully at home.

When we came home Bryson's Nana and Papa Buckert were there to meet Bryson for the first time. Bryson's light blanket had been delivered and thus was born day-glow baby Bryson!

Welcome to the World Little Man!

Bryson Robert Buckert graced us with his presence at 3:29 p.m. on July 24, 2007. He was born at Hinsdale Hospital after I was induced due to high blood pressure. All 28 hours of labor were well worth it after our first glimpse of Bryson. He came out with a few screams then peacefully peed all over the nurse as she started to clean him up. He was bright eyed with wonder shortly after delivery and we enjoyed checking each other out before Nate got to hold him for the first time! Our hospital stay we brief and uneventful though on the day we left they were slightly concerned with Bryson's Billy Rueben results so they reccomended a visit to the doctor the following day for a check-up...

Choosing an outfit ahead of time for Bryson to come home in was quite the ordeal. With everyone predicting he was going to be a big baby, we had NO idea what size he would need. When we found out he'd be arriving early I made sure to have something a little smaller on hand... good thing because even that outfit was too big. Once we got him into his seat we were amazed at how small he actually was. It was all very tiring for him and he slept the whole rainy way home!! Even through a brief visit to Nicole and Justins!
